Classroom Shuffle

Probably the most annoying part of my job is the constantly shifting schedule. After having a stable, predictable schedule for a month, my boss abruptly drops the whole thing and gives me brand new high school classes. Yes, in November. Need I even say that none of the students paid attention to me? After what I'm sure were several months with the same teacher, they kick in a new one less than a month before the semester ends. (I also got lost on the way to the school due to bad directions and my own wonky sense of place, but that's pretty much de rigueur by now)

Here's the kicker: On Friday (after a class that went surprisingly well), I was called down by the principal, who wanted to know where the regular teacher was. I'm not sure why he felt a need to ask this of me. What, did he think I jumped the guy and took his place? ("Now your classes and your power are mine! Muahahahaha!") All I could do was tell him to contact the person responsible for scheduling, as I have precisely zero influence over where I'm sent.

So where does that leave me? Not a clue. Sunday evening and I still don't know what I'm supposed to be doing this week. I think that this situation calls for some initiative on my part. More to follow.
