Fireworks

...and no, I'm not referring to the previous post (that situation is working out rather well, actually). Today's subject is actual fireworks. In preparation for the upcoming Spring Festival, street vendors are selling fireworks and yes, people are firing them in the city. (People fired off fireworks in Lawrence, too. Just goes to show that you can't tell people what to do when it comes to blowing things up)

Last night was particularly noisy due to some folks up the street firing noisemakers. If you've ever been in a Chinese restaurant, you've seen these things - a series of thick tubes attached to a string, similar to firecrackers but notably larger. Well, they're louder, too. Boy are they louder. The strings that were fired on this street looked and sounded like automatic weapon fire. Black Cats are for wimps, man.
